"Is this really necessary?" Jakob griped while struggling to hold up the large metal-shafted spear that he was handed. The spear looked lighter than it was, and it LOOKED like it weighed a ton.

"Quit whining," Shae snipped at Jakob. "The spear hasn't even been powered yet.

"Oh, well that explains a lo- woah, hey!" Jakob stood straight up, and the spear felt light as a feather. "Anything else I should know? Maybe where I can find an instruction manual or something?"

"Ah invaders. How ignorant they can be. They haven't even come to understand that instinct is the universal instruction manual." Faulk laughed.

Jakob thought for a moment, then lifted the spear into an offensive stance. Concentrating, he jabbed the spear in front of himself hoping attacking would be normal like an earth spear. It felt normal enough. I'd KILL for my pistol right now, Jakob thought to himself. Almost instantly the spear shortened and became a pistol with 3 barrels and a revolving chamber. "How'd I just do that?"

"Through concentration," Nigel replied. "The spear is psychic. If you want your gun, you may have it. It will simply have our little touch."

Shae snickered.

Almost to prove to Shae that he wouldn't be a burden, Jakob aimed at a rock formation in the distance and fired. Three purple beams fired out of the barrels and destroyed the formation. Shae became silent.

"Well, you can shoot now." Faulk began. "Now you have to learn to change that offensive tool into a defensive one. You won't always have our armour."

Jakob looked at Faulk, puzzled. "Do I just... Think?" The three Natives nodded. He closed his eyes and the gun began to change shape, but became extremely hot, and Jakob dropped it, now a shapeless blob of metal on the ground. "I thought 'armour' but all I got was burned hands! What was up with that?!" Jakob began. Nigel shushed him.

"You have other things in your head. You must CONCENTRATE."

A week of training passed before Jakob could easily change the spear to a pistol to a shield to a helmet. The Natives were impressed how much like the Natives Jakob had become. Without the power, he could lift and transform the spear, and could fight with it either way. Without anything, he could run at 40 laps around the colony without tiring, and with  the spear and no armour he could run 28.

"Jakob, are you ready?' Faulk asked him.

Jakob nodded. Over the past week, the three Elders had discussed an 'initiation' as an honorary Jaykin, the name of the race of Natives.

Shae held his spear point out, Nigel did the same with his staff, and Faulk muttered an incantation of some sort while a faint light showed itself on the ground. It started as a small circle, then grew in diameter to about 4 feet across as a set of half black, half white armour rose from the ground. It had the word "Savior" written on it.

Jakob was at a loss for words. the work was amazing, the close-fitting metal looked like it was made just for him. Faulk smiled and handed him the shirt to try on.As he pulled it over his head, he felt a little heavier, but not like the spear felt at the beginning of training. He slipped the pants on over his jeans. Everything fit perfectly, the intricate black and white accents on the shoulders glowing slightly. Jakob felt a sort of hood on the back of the shirt, and when he pulled it up he could tell it was armor as well. An infrared visual display was shown, and he looked around in awe. When he pulled down the hood he was smiling. "Thank you so much," He said. "You've done so much for me.

"Now shall we feast to our new savior?" Faulk asked. There was an immediate response of agreement.
I'm not very happy with this chapter. I'm sorry if it's not very good, I may rewrite this chapter and make it better once I become less awful.
